Growing Things Farm
Growing fresh organic veggies, eggs and meat since 1991.
General CSA Information
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA is a relationship in which you support your farmer by buying "shares" of the harvest at the beginning of the growing season. In return, your farmer provides you with a "share" of the harvest: the freshest and most nutritious produce from the farm. In most cases, your vegetables are picked only hours before delivery.
At Growing Things Farm, we offer a Summer CSA program that runs for 20 weeks beginning in June. Fruit shares (16 weeks) and egg shares are also available in conjunction with our veggie share (they are not available separately).
We strive for customer satisfaction with our CSA program. If you pick up your box at a farmers market, you have the opportunity to trade a vegetable from your box with something from the market stand. If you pick up at the farm or at a drop-off location, just let us know your preferences in advance and we will accommodate you.
When you sign up for our CSA program, you may also sign up for our newsletter -- full of recipes, storage information, and news of the farm and what's going on in the world of sustainable farming.

Vegetable share
The Summer CSA begins with early greens such as tender baby salad mix, baby spinach, and a wide variety of Asian greens. As the weeks progress, your produce transitions into tasty warm season crops like peas, beans, carrots, beets, broccoli, onions, summer squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and much more. Pick up is every week.

Eggs
We sell our eggs by the dozen at the farmers markets, when supply allows. Since our CSA customers have first priority for eggs, we aren't always able to keep up with the demand; if you wish to purchase eggs from us at the market, please come early. We sell out quickly.
Egg shares are available in conjunction with our CSA veggie share (they're not available separately).
Our eggs come from a wonderful laying breed, gentle and sweet and terrific layers. The hens are also great foragers and, in addition to eating their daily meal of organic grains, they scratch around in their pastures, snacking on greens and hunting for tasty worms and insects. They go inside the egg house to lay eggs, and, during certain times of the day, it is impossible to go in without covering your ears for all the proud exclamations of their contributions to the cause.

Fruit share
We offer a 16-week fruit share that includes strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, plums, apples, cherries and even apricots, peaches, and nectarines from our friends east of the mountains.
